How green are you?

We hear about it all the time – the climate is in crisis, and we need to make a green transition. And we are probably all in agreement, somewhere along the line, that something ought to be done.

But how green are we really, and what can each of us do to become greener?

It's a difficult question to answer, but here at Løgstør Camping, we'd like to try and help with some very practical tools that can guide us in the right direction.

1 – When is electricity actually at its greenest?

– How much water do we actually use when we wash up in the kitchen?

3 – how much water actually goes into a bath?

4 – How much electricity have I used today or this week?

We've set up a screen in the hallway between the bathrooms where you can constantly see how green the electricity is right now and when it will be greenest within the next 10 hours. That way, you can perhaps adjust your consumption accordingly – postpone a wash or similar.

You can also follow it on the website green electricity.nu

On that page, you can see how much CO2/kWh there is from production right now.

very green – under 68 g CO2 /kWh

Green – Under 112g CO2 / kWh

Both green and black – under 158 g CO2 / kWh

Mainly black – under 227 g CO2 / kWh

kulsort – over 227 g CO2 / kWh

How much water do we actually use in the kitchen?

In the kitchen, we have installed meters that can tell you how much water is actually used for tasks like washing up.

At the bottom of the meter, there is a black button which you can press to reset the consumption, and then you can test how much water is used in connection with a normal wash-up.

Next time, you could try to use a little less water, for example by turning it off intermittently – using a basin or something similar. Good luck.

How much water do we actually use when we take a bath?.

In a couple of our bathrooms, we have installed water meters so that it is possible to measure how much water is actually used per shower.

In the meter's housing there is a reset button, so there is an opportunity to experiment with different ways of taking a shower. Good luck

Power consumption in the carriages

To enable continuous electricity consumption monitoring, we have installed electricity meters at some pitches that can be monitored via a mobile phone app.

This means it's always possible to keep track of how much has been spent.

There is also the option to turn the power to the caravan on and off from home.

Where is it heading

As we move a little further along, we will follow up on this and gather your input on what else we should have and what could perhaps be done differently.
